Today, we were super heroes. Our team had the opportunity to join the people at Bloomberg in hosting a party for pre-schoolers from the Millhill Child and Family Development Center
in Trenton. (http://www.millhillcenter.org/) Bloomberg hosts community service events for their staff every December for two straight weeks! The theme for
the Best Of Bloomberg this year is Every Day Heroes. Our team, as local every day heroes, was invited to help host
one of the events.
What a great opportunity
this was to participate in our community and give some much needed adventures to the kids from Millhill. I must say,
I enjoyed this so much. I was surprised at how at first I felt intimidated by the room full of 40 four and five year
olds. However, after one smile exchange with one young boy, I was in! We helped with snacks, a craft, coloring
and of course, trying to explain crew... this part turned into major chaos, but the thought was there. The most successful
part would have to have been singing "row, row, row your boat." A very worthy crowd for such a tune.
I was fortunate enough
to bond with one young girl who literally clung to me for dear life when time to go. I felt honored to have earned her
friendship after such a short period of time and hope she had as good of a time as I did today. She was my super hero
today. The faith of a child is something everyone can look up to.
Many thanks to Monica Hilliard,
Bloomberg, and Millhill for the wonderful day!
